One of the trickiest books in the New Testament is the book of Jude, ‘cause it’s often translated using archaic words, based around Latin, French, old English.
I spent a few hours checking through the words in the original Greek, and their other uses in other verses, using that “Tools” button against each verse in that link below, popped in some thoughts below.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you and entreat you that you should earnestly contend (strive - even agonize) for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.
For there are certain men crept in unawares (stealthily), who were before of old ordained (written in beforehand) to this condemnation, ungodly men (without fear or reverence) , turning the grace of our God into wantonness (i.e. doing whatever they want), and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
..
And the angels which kept not their first estate - chief place (i.e. their beginning), but left their own dwelling-place, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness to the judgment of the great day.
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange (other) flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Yes, 2000 years previous to Jude’s letter, it was then only 400 years after the flood, the whole of mankind doubtless got to hear the story.
Likewise also these dreamers pollute the flesh (with sins), reject dominion (authority), and blaspheme (bring harmful words) against honourable ones.
Yet Michael the archangel, (even) when in deep (different) judgment with the devil as he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a blasphemous judgment, but said, “May the Lord rebuke (bring his honour upon-bring his charge upon) you.
But these blaspheme those things which they know not: but what they know physically, as beasts that have no logic, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Alas (Ouch) to them! for they have gone down the road of Cain (who slaughtered his brother), and run greedily after the deception of Balaam for payment, and perished in the contradictions of Korah (against Moses).
.....
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands (myriads) of his saints,
To execute judgment upon all, and to utterly expose all that are ungodly among them, for all of the deeds of ungodliness in which they are ungodly, and for all of the harshness which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
..........................
But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And of some have compassion (mercy), making a difference (i.e. through correct judgment):
and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the clothing blemished by the flesh.
Now to him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and authority, both now and ever. Amen.
