In Hebrew, when speaking a number without an implied noun (e.g. when counting, or providing a modern telephone number) the feminine form is used.
Note too, in scripture Hebrew numbers and years were always written out as full words from ancient times. The use of Hebrew numerals, especially in numbered lists (similar to A, B, C, etc in English) is thought to be due to Greek influence in the second century BC.
