• Luck is possibly from the Latin word Lux meaning "Light, Brightness"
• Destiny from Destination is derived from "to stand"
• Karma is a Sanskrit word derived from "reaping what you sow", in reincarnation the next life
• Yuan and Yuanfen, the Chinese word for Money, Coin, Circle (a prior incarnation interconnectedness)

Fates "Moirai" in Greek (from Hesiod) and "Parcae" in Latin were three very old women. In Homer, the word Moira was singular.

According to Encyclopaedia Britannica they did not control a persons actions, only when he is born, when he dies, and his allotment of misery and suffering.
