Who (his dear son) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (heir) of all creation:
For by him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions (masters), or principalities (chiefs), or powers (authorities): all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is the head of the body, the church: (he) who is the beginning (chief), the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (first place).

Subject: Chatting this morning about Apollos
Hi all
Romans 1:28
And
even
as they did not
approve
or see any value in their having
God
in
their knowledge
, God
gave
them
over to an unapproved
i.e. having a low value, reprobate mind
, doing
things which just don't connect
or fit.
And from there, we goto a man who was very desirous of having God in his knowledge. Here are those ten verses to that chap Apollos:
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. Yep, this is a great passage, Apollos knew the scriptures, he was a fervent Greek Jew (on fire), he knew the baptism of John, i.e. he knew about repentance, of having a changed mindset which meant dying to self and living for the Father. But like Cornelius, and like the disciples in Acts 19:1 below, he had not yet met the Lord Jesus and thus knew nothing yet of having that daily walk through the power, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Which those wonderful disciples, Aquila and Priscilla undoubtedly helped him with: "expounded to him the way of God more perfectly". |
|
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said to them, Have you received (taken hold of) the Holy Spirit since you believed? And they said to him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit. |
|
Now this I say, that every one of you says, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. |
|
For while one says, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are you not carnal (i.e. thinking only about the "here and now")? |
|
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? |
|
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. |
|
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; |
|
And these things, brothers and sisters, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. |
|
As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come to you with the brothers: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time. |

10 Titus 3:13 |
Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting to them. |
