Stumblin' in with Suzi Quatro and Chris Norman, as one of the songs in Red Dog the Movie

ChipMunks Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) by Alvin and the Chipmunks

With its childlike request for a "plane that loops the loop", it was the opening song in the movie "Almost Famous" with Kate Hudson (as Penny Lane/Lady Goodman).
Click here for one of Kate's last scenes in that movie, a poignant scene at an airport, with William, now her closest friend.

"Stumblin' In" - 1978

sung by (American) Suzi Quatro and (Englishman) Chris Norman
and written by (Australian) Mike Chapman and (Englishman) Nicky Chinn who wrote a number of hits for Suzi and other bands in the seventies

Our love is alive, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in
Our love is a flame, burning within
Now and then firelight will catch us
Stumblin' in
Wherever you go, whatever you do
You know these reckless thoughts of mine are following you
I've fallen for you, whatever you do
'Cause, baby, you've shown me so many things that I never knew
Whatever it takes, baby, I'll do it for you
Our love is alive, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in
Our love is a flame, burning within
Now and then firelight will catch us
Stumblin' in
You were so young, ah, and I was so free
I may have been young, but, baby, that's not what I wanted to be
Well, you were the one
Oh, why was it me?
'Cause, baby, you show me so many things that I never see
Whatever you need, baby, you've got it from me
Our love is alive, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in
Our love is a flame, burning within
Now and then firelight will catch us
Stumblin' in
Stumblin' in, stumblin' in
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in
Ah, stumblin' in, mmmh, stumblin' in
Now and then firelight will catch us
Stumblin' in
Oh, stumblin' in, ah, I was stumblin' in
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in
Oh, stumblin' in
Ah, stumblin' in
I was stumblin' in
We were stumblin' in

Alvin And The Chipmunks - 1958

"The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)"

Note, 1958 saw an explosion of "hula hoop" sales everywhere

[Dave:] Alright you Chipmunks, Ready to sing your song?
[Alvin:] I'd say we are
[Theodore:] Yeah, Lets sing it now!
[Dave:] Okay, Simon?
[Simon:] OK
[Dave:] Okay, Theodore?
[Theodore:] OK
[Dave:] Okay Alvin?...Alvin?...ALVIN!!!
[Alvin:] OKAY!!

[Chipmunks:]
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast

Want a plane that loops the loop
[Alvin:] Me, I want a Hula-Hoop
[Chipmunks:]
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas don't be late

[Dave:] Ok Fellas, Get ready.
That was very good, Simon.
[Simon:] Naturally!
[Dave:] Very Good Theodore
[Theodore:] He He He He
[Dave:] Uh Alvin, You were a little flat
Watch it, Alvin...Alvin?...ALVIN!!!
[Alvin:] OKAY!!

[Chipmunks:]
Want a plane that loops the loop
[Alvin:] I still want a Hula-Hoop
[Chipmunks:]
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas don't be late
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas don't be late
